To make your house “green” is no longer a hippy-loving, tree-hugging enterprise. For us, it is common sense. When we set out to make Rivers Bend Lodge a “green” residence, it was just as much a practical, money-saving enterprise as it was a “save the environment” enterprise. I also believed that we could do things in phases, by continually improving as technology advances until we become a self-sustaining residence. For us “green” means producing as much of our local resources as we consume - water, food, shelter and energy. We’re not totally there yet...but we will be by 2015 via a combination of solar, wind, and micro-hydro... and by 2020 we will be able to produce enough to power the cars we drive.

We’re always willing to try new products, ideas, and services that meet these goals; so send us your suggestions anytime.
